Caleb Woods was 2nd in the feature and Ed McFadden was 3rd.
The Mini Stock 20 lap feature had a very exciting ending!
The lead changed hands until it appeared that Cliff Bennett would take the win.
But on the final lap, coming out turn 4, Taylor Oberlin spun. Bennett slowed and Matt Morton zoomed by for the win and $100!Brian Wilkinson was 3rd followed by Oberlin and Zach Henderson.
Bennett won the heat.
Defending Mini Stock season points champion Corky Knight brought out a brand new car but had engine problems hot lapping and was done for the night.

April 10, 2010

MOTTVILLE, MI, SATURDAY, APRIL 10,2010-Every year before the season starts, the wish is that we can get one good weather night out of our first 3 nights of racing!
This year on Opening Day. March 27, it was dry but rather cool. Then last week we had the rain issue!
But tonight it was great! Upper 60's and sunny with a breeze!
The night started out badly when we arrived at the track and found out that, once again, our ticket booth had been vandalized.
This time it was worse than before. Besides breaking in the person who did this opened a fire extinguisher and sparyed the ticket booth and knocked over several cabinets and ruined the plexiglass in the ticket window.
Also two head sets were stolden. The value of the two was just under $400.
So if anyone has someone come around offering to sell some headsets please let us know! They can only be used with a certain radio.
Everyone pitched in including Caleb Woods and his lady friend and we got it all cleaned up just in time to open!
After that things went very well!
We had 21 cars-8 Mini Stocks, 8 Mini Thunders and 5 Street Stocks. We had expected a few more but the Concord Mall Car Show kept a few away.
These 21 cars put on a great show!
In the Street Stocks Justin Oberlin won the heat over Randy Pressler and Caleb Woods.
In the 25 lap feature it was Al Maurer winning his 2nd feature of the season over Pressler, Oberlin, Woods and Dave Logan.
In the Mini Stocks Jim Newman won the heat over Eric Frazier and Brian Wilkerson.
In the 25 lap feature it was Eldridge winning his 2nd feature of the season over Cliff Bennett, Newman, Frazier, Wilkerson, Patrick Knight and Corky Knight.
Taylor Oberlin was on hand but broke hot lapping.
In the first Mini Thunder Car heat it was Kevin Witman picking up the win over Dave Logan and Bryant Ragsdale.
In the consi heat Logan took the win over Ragsdale and Luke Thomas.
In the 25 lap feature Patrick McNamara took the win over Witmer, Logan, Thomas, Larry Cowan, Dave Smith and Ragsdale.
Advanced Properties sponsored a FREE FOR ALL RACE and 8 cars took the challenge for $100 to win and 20 laps!
Only 4 finished and it was Caleb Woods taking the money followed by Jim Newman, Eric Frazier, Brian Wilkerson, Dave Logan, Shane Eldridge, Patrick Mcnamara and Bryant Ragsdale.
Night number 4 is Saturday, April 17 with gates opening at 3 pm and racing at 4pm.
Sunday, open 4 and race at 5 is the rain date.
Our first regularly scheduled Sunday show is April 25 with gates opening at 4 and racing at 5pm.
Anyone who drives by the speedway and has time to stop and check out the ticket booth for any additional vandalim would be welcomed to do so and much apprecaited!
We will eventually catch the person responsible for this.

Angola Motor Speedway Opening Night May 1, 2010

Mother Nature TKO’S Everage Motor Sports Tour

(Fremont, In) The Angola Motor Speedway played host to opening night for the Everage Motor Sports Tour with the CRA Late Model Sportsman headlining the evenings event. The big evil known to short track racing, “Big Bad Ma,” other wise known as Mother Nature, did her best to ruin opening night, taking swings at the Everage Motor Sports group all night. Anyone who knows the promoter of the Everage Motor Sports Tour knows Craig Everage has only pulled the plug one time in his three years promoting the track and he wouldn’t give up easy.

The Johnny on the Spot FWD’S saw 10 cars come out and battle it out for the big $200 nightly payoff. The fastest qualifier was Mark Mason setting lap time 18.070 at 74.709 MPH besting the field of drivers. With the weather being a factor all night long, the heat races were cancelled for all divisions so the first feature of the night was the FWD’S. The 15 lap feature that saw Mark Mason out duel his teammate Derek Griffin to pick up the first feature win of the 2010 season at the Angola Motor Speedway followed by Griffin, Jeffery Shelmedine, Allison Vrba, and Luke Thomas rounding out the top five of the feature event.

The Smith Enterprise Mini Stocks came out in full force with 18 Mini Stocks putting on a great 20 Lap Feature for their biggest payoff in a long time. The fastest qualifier of the night in this class was Kedrin Holiday with a lap of 17.688 at 76.323 MPH, besting the top field of cars. The 20 Lap Main Event saw Holiday take the lead at lap 5 and never look back to pick up the win over Michael Mast, Cliff Bennett, Justin Dubios, Matt Morton, John Puff, Andrew Jones, Kameron Lindlag, Allen Tink, and Howie Fisset rounding out the top 10.

The CRA Late Model Sportsman and the Superior Auto Modifieds part of the program was finally called due to rain on JICI Pro-Fab pack the house night. The Everage Motor Sports Team will announce this week the plans to make up this event at later date for those two classes. Information will be posted on the website at www.angolamotorspeedway.com  with all of the information. We would like to thank the 72 cars that showed up for this event and the record number of fans that showed up for the opening night at the Angola Motor Speedway under the Everage Motor Sports Team.
